The question has been asked, and it's a good one, "Where, how, and to whom will the art be displayed. This post will attempt to address each of these as they are integral. The fact is though, that this particular vision statement, is hinged on venue.

Vision: Hold the exhibit in an outdoor public space.

Venue:

Examples of such public spaces in my area include the local Botanic Garden (with many thousands of visitors each year) and a local sculpture garden (running for a full mile with a bicycle/walking path running right down the middle of it). Given the fact that there are over 19,000 cities in America, chances high, that there are any number of site's that would be suitable for such a display with organizer amenable to such an idea.

Audience:

Reaching any sort of sizeable audience through gallery exhibits is unlikely and is probably not going to reach people who really need to be reached. Putting the work on display, outdoors where people go as a matter of habit for recreational or cultural enjoyment, exposes the work to a much broader audience.

Display:

To display outdoors, durable media is required. The ideal solution for permanent installation is something like a bronze or aluminum plaque. These will withstand weather and can be cleaned if vandalized with graffiti. There are other less-durable options for more temporary installations.

Funding:

The goal all along has been to acquire funding through grants, so this will be a key area of focus the closer we get to having the content we need for an exhibit.

Meanwhile:

Keep submitting. We need your voice most of all to make this happen. Of course, we also value your feedback on this project. This is a vision statement. The idea was born out of a conversation with one of our contributing poets, and that is how WE will make this happen. Thanks for reading. There's more to come.

Peace out,

Richard

Art is a pathway into the garden of the viewer's own imagination.
